  • Pack River Delta Wildlife Restoration Project

    Come learn about wetland mitigation and habitat restoration on Lake Pend Oreille and why it is needed. Learn about Idaho Fish and Game’s restoration methods and previous projects they have completed on Lake Pend Oreille’s deltas. Finally, we’ll learn about the recently completed Pack River Delta project and future restoration plans.


    Pete Rust has been working at Idaho Department of Fish and Game since 2002, primarily involving fisheries recovery investigations on the Kootenai River and Lake Pend Oreille. Since 2021, Pete has served as Mitigation Staff Biologist, implementing the North Idaho Memorandum of Agreement between Idaho and Bonneville Power Administration. Pete works collaboratively with federal, state, Tribal, and private entities to restore and rebuild wetlands on Lake Pend Oreille that were lost due to inundation and operations of Albeni Falls Dam.

  • Annual Spring Cleanup at the Arboretum

    For 25 years KNPS members have gathered near the end of May to get the Arb ready for summer. The tradition continues!.

    We have a collection of tools, but it’s a good idea to bring gloves, a favorite tool or two, and a good-sized tub or bucket for weeds and debris.

    Everyone is invited to bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy sharing lunch outside.
